Summary of the OSIS Product Range

The OSIS technology has been developed as a two level system using Client Server Architecture. More information regarding this and the system platforms supported by OSIS can be found in the leaflet OSIS system architecture.

The functionality of the OSIS technology can assigned to several layers, the OSIS layers. This partitioning enables a modular construction of the product range and scalability of the OSIS Technology:

• The starting point is the OSIS starter pack. The functions offered here are the configuration and administration of OSIS via GUI´s. In particular, with the OSIS starter pack mappings can be configured enabling the conversion of data with the help of the OSIS application modules thus making the programming of individual interfaces redundant. Furthermore the OSIS starter packt supports the central administration and monitoring of all the interfaces in the productive environment.

• The OSIS starter pack can be supplemented with a wide range of components (adaptors), the OSIS communication components. The main functions being

  • The controlling of protocols for the file transfer between OSIS and the application system,
  • The setting up of servers for the file transfer between OSIS and the external partners via ISDN or internet,
  • The access of OSIS to SQL-Server database orientated application system
  • The programme-programme-communication between OSIS and the application system.

• For the creation of standardised messages and the conformity check of messages with regard to the Syntax & Semantic of the standards, for example EDIFACT and XML, the OSIS EDI modules are available.

• The OSIS-Business-Integration-Platform offers a high degree of flexibility and compatibility during the integration of application systems and hereby fulfils especially complex tasks in the integration of the business processes. The construction of the service orientated architecture (SOA) is supported while integrating IT Landscapes from and between companies.

• For the SAP R/3 Business Integration OSIS has a certified and recommended software interface for the SAP AG NetWeaver and ALE-Technologie for all SAP R/3 Releases.

• Out of requests from the application systems the OSIS module, OSIS-Web-Service, creates requests on the web services, receives the resulting information and transfers it to the application system or simply stores information from the application system in the web services.

• The OSIS Monitor is available for the continual tracing of the processing of messages and data with regard to their conversion and communication.
