OSIS System Architecture
OSIS has been developed to use the client-server architecture. The data records and many of the runtime processes are installed on
the server and the client uses JAVA GUI´s in order to contact and control the server. OSIS can be configured and the communications
settings can be made via these GUI´s (i.e. starting and stopping the processes, access to the archives and log data etc.). During the
configuration of new jobs or editing of existing jobs the configurations data is stored separately. The new configuration is then only loaded into the running system after tests have been
carried out. Client, Server and Monitor are linked via TCP/IP. The access to the server is possible via the LAN or WAN. With the use of the OSIS extension the OSIS-Business-Integration-Platform a browser orientated monitoring is made available that allows certain tasks to be carried out in connection with a database and web server. OSIS can be set up on a Windows (2000, XP, 2003), Unix (HP / HP-UX, Sun / Solaris, IBM / AIX, RM Reliant, Digital Unix) or Linux (Suse, Red Hat) server. OSIS is, of course, also compatible with the Cluster-Technology of the above mentioned operating systems.
