The OSIS Starter Pack

The OSIS starter pack contains the software for the OSIS client and server system architecture and includes the OSIS application modules. Many of the basic functions and all the mapping functions (application orientated processing of the files/messages) are made available with the starter pack. According to the individual requirements, the starter pack can be extended to include the relevant OSIS EDI modules for the conversion of Syntax & Semantic (for example from/to EDIFACT, IDOC, XML etc.) and the OSIS-Communication-Modules (for example for TCP/IP, OFTP, ALE from SAP/R3, access to SQL-Databases etc.)
Additional to the configuration and administration of OSIS via GUI´s, the basis functions are, for example:

• Completely automated data transfer,r
• Logging of all the transactions and system processes,
• Configurable status messages,
• Scheduler to automate the triggering of OSIS actions and system processes,
• Communication, taking into account the input sequence
• Periodic (active) and event triggered (passive) communication (receive, collect, send, make available), depending upon the protocol used and the options made available by it,
• Input and output archives that can be activated or deactivated, archiving of data at various stages of the OSIS internal data transmission as re-quired,
• Automated reorganisation of the system data, in particular the archives,
• The possibility to re-activate the transmission process for data in the archives,
• Error logs for the logging of all error situations,
• Configurable generation of status messages as a result of error situations,
• Archiving of data in error situations,
• A choice of automated or manual reactivation of the communication process in an error situation,
• A safe and reliable processing restart procedure. The restart procedure can be carried out in single OSIS internal data transport steps, and thus data processing steps,
• As extra help tools:
  • Setting of breakpoints in the configuration ( Configuration debugging),
  • Manuel re-starting of the data transmission in the case of transmission errors, after correcting the configuration error.
