EDI and Business Process Integration for SAP

The LS GmbH is a Software Partner of the SAP AG and with OSIS, the - Open System Integration Server -, offers solutions for electronic data interchange (EDI) and for process integration of SAP applications.

OSIS acts as an interface for the SAP application and takes on the role of organising the data flow between the applications systems involved and controlling the process integration of the SAP application.

The SAP Standard technology ALE/RFC (Application Link Enabling / Remote Function Call) is generally used for the technical connection between OSIS and the SAP Application.

The content exchange between OSIS and the SAP application is carried out using the SAP IDoc format applicable to the business process concerned.

Additional to the ALE technology the technical connection between OSIS and the SAP application can also be carried out via the BAPI technology: OSIS exchanges automated 'Business Objects’ with the SAP application via the RFC technology. For the exchange of content the SAP IDoc format can once again be used.

In order to exchange data with 'non SAP applications’ OSIS uses 'state of the art' protocol adapters. OSIS can also make the data content available in all standard formats.
