EDI for SAP PI

The LS GmbH is a Software Partner of the SAP AG and with OSIS, the - Open System Integration Server -, offers solutions for electronic data interchange (EDI) and for process integration of SAP PI. OSIS bridges the gaps left by the missing functionality of the SAP PI when it is used for EDI.

OSIS acts as an interface for the SAP PI and takes on the role of organising the data flow between the application systems while becoming a universal adapter for the SAP PI. OSIS controls the process integration of the SAP PI application.

The technical connection between OSIS and the SAP PI is carried out using the SAP certified PI adapter LShttp developed by the LS GmbH. The exchange of data content between OSIS and the SAP PI is carried out in the XML format. With OSIS it is possible to enable your SAP PI to carry out EDI by using various protocols for example X.400, ODETTE FTP, FTAM, etc. or use the OSIS EDIFACT converter in order to exchange standard EDIFACT messages.

It is also possible to use OSIS as an SAP PI 'embedded Solution’ that is called via the SAP PI module delivering the data back to the SAP PI module. The SAP PI application can then be economically integrated into the existing standards and solutions of the business data exchange. In this way OSIS is also completely integrated into the SAP PI monitoring.
